2). There are never more than 3 rated in the top 3. All the ratings i know of, (i am thinking of rpr and timeform for example here), have joint or co top rated and/or second top etc which means that there are often several horses in the top 3 rated.
3). I am writing this on wednesday morning so things may change either way, but, so far, the strike rate has been 47% for the top 3 rated which compares favourably with other, more expensive ratings.
